Get excited for one of the biggest fashion gala events that celebrates emerging Chinese talent. This year, it will be hosted in the spring of 2020 at The Plaza Hotel. The list of honorees who will be spotlighted on April 29, 2020 at this fashion gala has been announced, and Estée Lauder’s Wendy Yu made the list.
Estée Lauder’s Wendy Yu will be receiving the Millennial Leadership Award. She will receive this award, for her support and promotion of emerging talent that puts a spotlight on fashion heavily influencing and creating the China scene. Estée Lauder will be awarded this award for excellence and achievement in China with regards to the beauty industry around the world. The global brand president from the Estée Lauder brand is expected to accept the award at the event.
The gala was designed to celebrate Chinese design. It highlights up and coming Chinese talent to showcase on a global stage for all to see and be inspired to pursue or support the fashion industry as it relates to China’s contributions. It is also a way to recognize individuals who have contributed to help propel China forward in its beauty and fashion work.
Wendy Yu is excited about the upcoming honor and it’s beyond the sky’s-the-limit potential it could bring in the future. The award will hopefully prove to spur on and surge an inspiration for up and coming designers who represent modern China in regards to its fashion. She also tips her hat to all of the emerging talent who craft their works by hand like a new designer, Caroline Hu, whom you may be seeing a lot more of in the future.
Yue-Sai Kan, who founded and is the chairwoman of Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund, will host this upcoming spring of 2020 event. Also Mark Gong, an emerging designer, will help to host the event. There will be a competition intended to spark even more creativity among potential designers. This event will be the fifth annual gala, and will include a cocktail hour followed by a dinner, spectacular performances still to be announced, and an awards ceremony complete with a benefit auction.
The proceeds raised from the gala event are expected to help with the CBCF scholarship funds to allow future talent to receive education in the fashion industry. Additional proceeds will help to benefit other partnerships in fashion with up-and-coming influences with China’s inspirations.
